good news

In the past, whenever the situation seemed ripe for my commentary (usually a pretty low threshold!) and particularly when feeling grumpy, your Brother Charlie has been known to opine that "Newscasts" really ought to be called "Badcasts".

You know what I mean: the general working model for informing the public of a day's events seems long to have been to accentuate the negative.

And as I reckoned it, this was deliberate.  Because the programmers were banking on the psychology that when the audience felt bad about the "state of things", at the commercial break we would be more likely to want to salve the wound by buying their sponsors' products!

This may or may not have been true; it may or may not yet be the case.  Whatever.  As I have been working to deliberately seek more light, hope and love in my own life - and thus to promote the same in the world around me - I've found it remarkably easy to focus my attention on the positive news.

Here are a few links that I gathered in just a few minutes' googling:

As a once-famous . . .er . . . television commercial put it: "Try It, You'll Like It!"
